Rolex Explorer 40 ref 224270 (2023) is the first 40mm model in the series. Rolex has made several changes to the collection’s case size over the past several years . The ref. 224270 is currently only produced in 904L-grade Oystersteel. Aside from exclusively using steel, ref. 224270 follows the same design blueprint as its smaller counterpart. It sports a waterproof Oyster case surrounded by a smooth bezel, a Twinlock waterproof crown without guards, a three-link Oyster bracelet, and a black dial with the iconic 3/6/9 Arabic numeral configuration.
